You were always by my side.

Each step for me was a milestone for you.

You may not have noticed, but I did.
I noticed each tired step,
each tired tail wag.
Yet, you never failed to give me
that happy smile.

While I may not be the only one
that misses you, I know that
you’re not tired anymore.

You’re no longer by my side.

You’re steps, milestones, ahead of me.

I just have to catch up.
